Wind/Brass
A wind instrument is a musical instrument that contains some type of resonator in which passage of air is the primary technique and mechanism to elicit sound.The player blows into or over a mouthpiece set at the end of the resonator. There are may wind instruments, which include the trumpet, flute, saxophone and much more. By using different air columns for different noted, the player will be able to create songs and melodies pleasing to an audience. There are two kinds of wind instruments--Brass and Woodwind instruments. There are many techniques a player uses to obtain different notes. A player could change the length of the vibrating air column by adjusting the tube length through engaging valves, which route the air through additional tubing.
Wind instruments have been around for many, many centuries, securing a strong foothold in our nation's and our global community's rich cultural diversity.
